About the Team

As the Grid Solutions Integration (GSI) business in the North American (NAM) region grows, so does the complexity and scope of our customer projects. GSI encompasses the ACS, FACTS, Service, and HVDC segments, operating under GE Vernova's electrification businesses within Grid Solutions. This team is dedicated to driving innovation and efficiency in high-voltage power systems, managing multi-discipline engineering portfolios that span design, execution, and technical strategy.

About the Role

The Engineering Portfolio Manager serves as a pivotal people leader and technical referent for a team of engineers, direct reports, and contractors. This is a hands-on role that balances strategic leadership with detailed high-voltage substation design project work. You will be accountable to the Sr. Engineering Manager for meeting department KPIs and ensuring the performance of your team.

In this position, you will guide sub-disciplines from the project launching phase through execution, ensuring proper management of interfaces with partners and suppliers. Your day-to-day involves optimizing resource planning, driving continuous quality improvement, and fostering a culture of safety and integrity. You will lead initiatives to develop quality procedures, organize knowledge capitalization, and deploy engineering tools to enhance efficiency. Whether leading specific projects or supporting department-wide transformation, you will be the technical anchor for your team while navigating a high-growth environment.

Hiring Process

Candidates for this role will undergo a comprehensive evaluation process designed to assess both technical expertise and leadership capabilities. The process typically includes:

  1. Initial Screening: A review of qualifications and experience against the core requirements for power systems design and management.
  2. Technical & Leadership Interview: A deep dive into your experience with EPC projects, multi-discipline team leadership, and technical problem-solving in high-voltage environments.
  3. Team Fit & Strategy: Discussions on your approach to resource allocation, talent development, and driving productivity within a global organization.
  4. Final Review: Final interviews with senior leadership to align on vision and team dynamics.

Please note that this is a remote position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and willing to travel up to 20% of the time, including internationally.
