As an Engineering Technician in Sterling, Virginia, you will play a vital role in the development of new products and material processes for both commercial and Department of Defense applications. This position bridges the gap between research and development and pilot-scale production, focusing on advanced materials.
In this onsite capacity, you will support the evolution of consolidation, milling, and manufacturing processes. Your day-to-day activities will involve preparing materials, assembling components, and assisting with welding and machining operations. You will also be integral to lab operations, where you will prepare analytical samples, evaluate metallographic properties, and generate test reports while maintaining the organization of lab supplies.
Collaboration is key to this role. You will work closely with design engineers to develop products suitable for small-scale testing and larger-scale manufacturing. Additionally, you will support machine maintenance and repair operations, ensuring the continuity of industrial workflows.
Candidates must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance, with U.S. citizenship being a strict prerequisite. The role is a contract position requiring onsite presence in Sterling, Virginia, for 40 hours per week.
