The Energy Market Analyst plays a critical role in supporting RPU's optimization of wholesale power markets. Working under general direction, you will analyze data, monitor electric, energy, and environmental markets, and forecast future needs. Your work products and analysis will be instrumental in crafting strategies that maximize the margin on sales and purchases within the wholesale power market and from RPU's joint action agency.
In this role, you will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies while engaging in day-to-day market activities. You will execute strategies that provide the maximum return on the City's investment in power generation assets and effectively utilize demand-side management assets to reduce purchased power. This position requires the use of independent judgment to navigate complex market conditions and support the City's energy goals.
