About the Role

As a Center Medical Specialist, you will be the medical backbone of our donation centers. Your role is to ensure the safety and well-being of our donors while maintaining the highest standards of care. You will perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability, while also building rapport to ensure overall customer satisfaction.

In this position, you will provide donor education regarding general health and counsel donors on unacceptable test results. You will be responsible for evaluating and managing donor injuries and adverse events, as well as assessing medical history and medications to ensure continued donor eligibility. Additionally, you will assist in employee training and administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.

The work environment is dynamic, requiring you to relate sensitive information to diverse groups. You will work in a plasma center setting, which involves exposure to biological fluids and electrical office and laboratory equipment. The role may also require working in extreme cold conditions below 32 degrees F while performing functions in plasma freezers, utilizing personal protective equipment such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear.
