The Employment Preparatory & Placement Coach (EPPC) serves as a dedicated mentor and career guide for individuals experiencing homelessness in Long Beach. Reporting to the Director of Programs, this role is pivotal in bridging the gap between community partnerships and sustainable employment. You will work closely with the City of Long Beach Multi-Service Center (MSC) and various offsite partners, including Pacific Gateway, SELACO, and Long Beach City College, to deliver comprehensive workforce development services.
Your day will be defined by building trust with participants to create personalized service plans that address not just job placement, but long-term career success. From conducting initial readiness assessments and coaching on resume writing to facilitating job search seminars and following up on job retention, you will be the constant advocate ensuring participants transition successfully into unsubsidized employment. This position requires frequent travel to co-location sites and community events to represent Goodwill and connect with local employers.
Goodwill is committed to empowering individuals facing barriers to employment, including those with disabilities, criminal histories, or housing insecurity. We believe in a team-based approach where ethics, confidentiality, and problem-solving drive our outcomes. As a member of our team, you will uphold our core values, fostering an inclusive environment where every participant is supported to achieve their full potential. We value open communication, continuous learning, and a shared commitment to the success of our community partners and the individuals we serve.
