About the Role

Prisma Health seeks an Emergency Psychiatrist to join the Department of Emergency Medicine as faculty within the Division of Emergency Psychiatry. This role is designed for a candidate prepared to shape the future of Emergency Psychiatry at Prisma Health and contribute significantly to the department's academic mission.

You will join a dedicated team providing frontline psychiatric care within an innovative care delivery model that is redefining the approach to behavioral health issues in the emergency department. The position offers a unique environment featuring a devoted Psychiatric Area within the ED and a state-of-the-art Psychiatric Pod. As a faculty member, you will have ample opportunities for teaching and supervision, working alongside accredited 3-year Emergency Medicine and 4-year Psychiatry residency programs, as well as the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville, located on campus. The role also involves participating in an innovative telepsychiatry consultation program serving the health system's satellite EDs.

Location and Community

This is a single-location opportunity at the flagship downtown hospital in Greenville, SC, with no travel requirements. Greenville is one of the fastest-growing areas in the country, situated on the I-85 corridor between Atlanta and Charlotte. The city offers a diverse and thriving economy, excellent quality of life, and wonderful cultural and educational opportunities. Ideally located near beautiful mountains, beaches, and lakes, the catchment area supports a population of 1.3 million people.
