ELL Teacher

About the Role

Oliver Middle School seeks a dedicated Teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL) to support students whose first language is not English. The mission of this position is to provide targeted instruction that enables students to achieve English proficiency as quickly as possible. This role is vital for guiding the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals while meeting the individual needs and abilities of a diverse student population in grades K-12.

As an ESL teacher, you will serve as a key resource to staff, offering expertise on curriculum adaptations and leading inservice training for support staff, teachers, and assistants. You will collaborate closely with school personnel, parents, and out-of-district agencies to improve student performance and develop effective solutions. The position involves designing and implementing an appropriate service delivery model, assessing student language proficiency, and maintaining accurate records of the Limited English Proficient (LEP) student population.

Hiring Process

Selected candidates will be expected to begin their contract on August 31, 2026. The position is a full-time role (1.0 FTE, 8 hours) covering 192 contract days, with terms of employment set by Board Approval and salary established by the collective bargaining agreement.
