Type One Energy Group is a mission-driven company established in 2019 and venture-backed in 2023. Our goal is to provide sustainable, affordable fusion power to the world. We are led by a team of globally recognized fusion scientists with a strong track record of building state-of-the-art stellarator fusion machines, alongside veteran business leaders experienced in scaling companies and commercializing energy technologies.
We apply proven advanced manufacturing methods, modern computational physics, and high-field superconducting magnets to develop our optimized stellarator fusion energy system. Our FusionDirect development program pursues the lowest-risk, shortest-schedule path to a fusion power plant over the coming decade, utilizing a partner-intensive and capital-efficient strategy. We are also committed to community engagement in the development and deployment of our clean energy technology.
If you are searching for the best new ideas and share our vision, join us as an Electrical Engineer. This role is designed to support our mission by designing, developing, testing, and integrating electronic hardware and embedded systems that power our stellarator devices, test facilities, and supporting infrastructure.
You will work in a dynamic environment spanning analog and digital circuit design, data acquisition systems, safety PLC implementation, and hardware verification. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on electrical engineering skills with experience in industrial or research environments involving complex instrumentation and safety-critical systems. You will translate high-level system requirements into detailed electrical specifications, collaborate with mechanical and systems engineers for robust integration, and support manufacturing and design-for-reliability activities.
We are looking for candidates who are ready to make an immediate impact. While specific interview steps are coordinated by our team, the process is designed to evaluate both technical depth and cultural fit within our mission-driven environment.
Type One Energy is an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity, searching for the best new ideas, and remaining open to unique perspectives. Therefore, all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment independent of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, or any other characteristics protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.
