As a member of the healthcare team at the University of Toledo Health Science Campus, you will support the Heart Station in delivering comprehensive cardiovascular diagnostics. This role is integral to the department's mission of providing high-quality patient care while adhering to UTMC Service Values and iCare standards.
The EKG Tech III serves as a versatile diagnostic specialist, performing a wide variety of electrocardiograms, Holter monitor scans, event recorders, and exercise tests for patients across the entire lifespan—from infants to geriatric adults. Beyond technical proficiency, this position requires a strong commitment to patient safety and quality improvement. You will be responsible for recognizing and addressing safety issues, managing equipment dysfunction, and ensuring a secure environment for both patients and staff.
Your day-to-day involves collaborating with the team to limit exposure risks, managing spills, and utilizing standardized handoff communication to ensure seamless care transitions. You will also play a key role in department education and training initiatives, helping to reduce unsafe working conditions and foster a culture of safety.
