This position serves as a vital technologist within the cardiovascular and neurophysiology departments, bridging the gap between advanced diagnostic technology and compassionate patient care. The role is designed for a versatile professional who can seamlessly transition between complex EEG examinations and comprehensive EKG services, ensuring accurate data collection for critical clinical interpretations.
In this capacity, you will be the primary point of contact for patients undergoing neurologic and cardiac evaluations. Your day involves preparing patients for a variety of tests, including standard EEGs (wake, sleep, bedside, and isolation), neonatal EEGs in the ICU, and cardiac assessments such as EKGs, Holter monitors, and event recorders. Beyond the technical execution of these procedures, you play a key educational role by explaining complex recording processes to patients and their families, ensuring they feel informed and comfortable.
The role demands a high degree of clinical observation and adaptability. You will monitor patients during seizures or other emergency situations, providing immediate care while maintaining strict electrical safety protocols. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to troubleshooting equipment, performing minor repairs, and ensuring all diagnostic tools remain in optimal working condition. You will also manage administrative duties, including charting patient history, editing and confirming test results, and coordinating with the stress lab RN and the Director of Cardiovascular Services.
Candidates meeting the qualifications will be invited to discuss their experience in diagnostic technologies and patient care. The selection process focuses on verifying technical proficiency in EEG and EKG procedures, as well as assessing the ability to handle emergency clinical situations with composure.
We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
