About the Role

The Education Specialist - Inclusive Education position is dedicated to enhancing the academic success of students with special needs. This role serves as a vital support system, designed to relieve teachers of clerical burdens while providing essential assistance to students with special health care needs.

Day in the Life

You will work directly within a variety of school environments, including classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and during field trips. Your day involves adapting classroom activities and materials under the direction of teachers, administering tests, and implementing instructional programs in reading, math, language, and behavioral skills.

A significant portion of your time will be spent assisting students with daily care needs, such as toileting and feeding, as well as monitoring them during assigned periods. You will also participate in Individual Education Program (IEP) meetings, conferring with teachers and parents to ensure student progress. Additionally, the role requires maintaining classroom equipment, managing student files, and performing necessary record-keeping and clerical functions.

Hiring Process

Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment proficiency test. The selection process also includes a background check involving criminal justice and fingerprint clearance.
