As the Education Program Director for our Special Education program in Oakland, CA, you will serve as the instructional leader and operational hub for our K-12 site. This role exists to transform student outcomes by championing excellence in instruction and fostering an environment of continuous academic growth for students with special education needs.
You will be the pivotal link between our site and designated school district contacts, establishing positive, interactive working relationships that drive success. In this collaborative, goal-oriented environment, you will inspire a dedicated staff to deliver high-quality teaching practices aligned with Spectrum's proven educational strategies. Your day will involve balancing visionary leadership with the hands-on management of daily operations, ensuring a safe, supportive, and efficient learning environment where every student can thrive.

Minimum 2 years of prior experience in an educational leadership or school administrator role. Minimum 2 years of prior teaching experience in a special education program setting. Minimum 2 years of prior experience working with pupils with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and/or other related disabilities. Highly knowledgeable in the development, assessment, and management of curriculum, content areas, differentiated instruction, and working with individualized education plans (IEPs). Effective management skills and comprehensive knowledge of administrative and school operations, admission and enrollment procedures, certification, accreditation, and compliance laws and regulations. Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA), including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, functional behavior analysis (FBA), and behavior intervention plans (BIPs). Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students. Proven ability to build and maintain multiple relationships with students, parents, teachers, and community and/or district partners. Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment. Master's degree or better in Education Leadership or a related field. Principal License, Education Administrator credential, Special Ed Certification, LMFT, LPCC, LEP, LCSW, or Pupil Personnel Services credentials.
