Our mission is to expand access to quality jobs while preparing the next generation of educators to nurture and inspire young children.
TEACH Track is our workforce initiative designed to open doors for those who need it most—including English language learners and individuals who have been long-term unemployed. Funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, this program helps you overcome barriers to entering the early childhood field by providing financial assistance for upfront costs, professional training from trusted partners, paid on-the-job classroom experience, and job placements with real opportunities to grow.
As a Substitute Teacher's Assistant, you will work alongside passionate lead teachers to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children thrive socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. This role offers hands-on experience in early childhood education with flexible scheduling options, including full-time, part-time, and on-call shifts. You will be an integral part of the daily rhythm of the classroom, supporting lessons, playtime, and outdoor activities while helping to maintain a clean and inviting learning environment.
We value your skills and experience with competitive pay and offer paid training and professional development to help you grow your career. We also provide Child Development Permit reimbursement to support your journey and offer referral bonuses for bringing great teachers to the team. This is a career pathway in a growing field with room to advance.

TEACH-LA operates as a workforce development initiative within the education industry, headquartered in Los Angeles, California. The organization addresses critical needs in the sector by expanding the Early Childhood workforce and establishing living wage career pathways. Specifically, the program prepares educators in Los Angeles County to teach and nurture children aged 18 months to 4 years old. By combining educational opportunities, on-the-job work experience, and a supportive community, TEACH-LA empowers aspiring teachers to make a meaningful impact on young learners.
The initiative was seeded by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services to create a career entry program for low-income individuals entering the education field. Policy and program development are managed by the Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE), a community development non-profit founded in 1976. PACE serves over 40,000 low-income Angelenos annually, providing the structural foundation for TEACH-LA's mission to support and grow the local Early Childhood workforce.
