The Warehouse – Forklift Operator is a vital part of our food manufacturing operations, ensuring the efficient, safe, and sanitary movement of materials and equipment throughout the facility. In this role, you will be the backbone of our logistics chain, managing the flow of raw materials from inbound delivery to production lines, and overseeing the timely shipment of finished goods.
Your day-to-day involves more than just operating machinery; you are responsible for maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety. You will unload raw materials, ensuring they are stored correctly with proper First In First Out (FIFO) rotation and allergen segregation. On the outbound side, you will load finished goods onto trucks, verifying that vehicles are clean and sanitary to maintain the integrity of our trace recall programs. You will also support production by supplying raw materials, removing finished goods, and performing stretch-wrapping to ensure unit integrity.
Safety is paramount in this position. You will conduct daily safety checks on forklifts and other motorized equipment, reporting any deviations immediately. The role requires working in a typical food manufacturing environment, which includes regular exposure to both heat and cold, as well as standing for the majority of the shift. You will also manage waste trailers and compactors, perform periodic physical counts of inventory, and maintain radar frequency gun locator systems for traceability.
This is a safety-sensitive position within a food manufacturing setting. The environment can be demanding, requiring the ability to work in extremely cold areas while standing for extended periods. To ensure your safety and the safety of the food products, strict Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols are in place. This includes slip-resistant footwear, insulated overalls or smocks, company-supplied gloves, hairnets or beard nets, and appropriate ear, eye, and head protection.
Candidates must possess a current forklift certification and the ability to read, write legibly, and perform simple mathematical functions. While a High School Diploma or GED is preferred, the most critical requirement is a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team with excellent communication skills. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are encouraged to apply. Please ensure you are prepared to work in a temperature-controlled environment and adhere to all safety protocols regarding PPE and equipment operation.
