The DVOP Government Operations Consultant II is a vital member of the Florida Commerce team, operating within CareerSource Broward. This is a veteran-funded position dedicated to providing outreach and facilitating placements to meet the employment needs of eligible veterans and their spouses. As a DVOP Specialist, you will operate in a fast-paced environment where critical thinking and prioritization are essential. Your knowledge and skills will be directly utilized to assist veterans and other qualified individuals who are out of work in finding meaningful employment.
You will serve as a bridge between veterans and the workforce, ensuring the local office complies with Federal Regulations and the standards of performance mandated by the Department of Labor. The role requires you to model leadership by fostering a culture of innovation, seeking efficiencies, and supporting complex projects that offer valuable professional growth.
Based in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area, you will work in Broward County, a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area. Known as the yachting capital of the world, Fort Lauderdale offers a semi-tropical climate with over 3,000 hours of sunshine annually. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Human Services, Education, or a related field, plus 1-3 years of experience in business services, human resources, case management, or leadership. Professional or nonprofessional experience in areas related to workforce development, employment, interviewing, counseling, job placement, aptitude testing and assessments, job development, or job analysis may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education. Possess the ability to utilize state workforce development databases and the ability to utilize the Internet to conduct research and obtain data. Registered in EmployFlorida.
