As a Driving Instructor, you will guide students through the essential journey of learning to drive safely and confidently. This role goes beyond simply teaching vehicle operation; you will help students master road regulations, understand vehicle mechanics, and develop the composure needed to handle emergency situations. Whether in a classroom setting or behind the wheel, your goal is to build trust and ensure every student gains the skills necessary to navigate local and interstate traffic laws with assurance.
You will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, administering tests, and providing constructive feedback to help students improve. The position requires patience and the ability to connect with a diverse range of individuals, including at-risk youth, adults, and people with disabilities. You will work in a dynamic environment that involves both classroom instruction and hands-on driving practice, often requiring flexibility to accommodate weekend schedules.
Interested candidates must possess a valid Class "D" Chauffeur's Driver's License and a clean driving record. All applicants are required to pass a Louisiana State background check. While a high school diploma or GED is required, prior teaching experience and CPR certification are preferred.
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position offering an hourly rate of $18 for 35-40 hours per week. Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable using technology such as televisions and computers for instruction.
We value reliability, punctuality, and the ability to maintain composure in stressful driving situations. We encourage building rapport with students through appropriate off-topic conversations, fostering an environment where open dialogue about current events, politics, and life experiences helps strengthen the instructor-student connection.
