About the Opportunity

As a Driver Trainee, you will learn the essential functions of the Driver role, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. You will gain exposure to warehouse and other operational functions as part of the developmental process of becoming a McLane Driver.

McLane is offering a fully paid CDL-A School right here in Northfield, MN. This program provides a clear pathway to start a career with excellent pay and benefits, allowing you to train side-by-side with experienced Driver Trainers.

Program Details

McLane covers the cost of your CDL-A School training. The program includes on-site training in Northfield, MN, lasting 4 weeks, scheduled Monday through Thursday. To participate, you must obtain a CDL-A Permit prior to the class start date. During the training phase, you will earn $23.50/hour.

What to Expect

Our motto is "Work Safe, Home Safe." Your safety and ability to get home to your family are paramount, which is why all prospective teammates go through a pre-hire screening process. Candidates will be subject to a background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable laws.

The working environment encompasses all areas of a distribution center, the transportation department, the shop, and customer facilities. You may encounter moderate noise, vehicle vibration, and extreme weather conditions depending on the climate. The role involves regular and frequent travel, including overnight trips.

Hiring Process

Interested candidates should apply to begin the pre-hire screening process. Successful applicants will complete the fully paid training program to earn their Class A CDL within 6 months or less.
