The Department of Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is seeking a visionary leader to direct the Division of Nephrology. This role serves as a pivotal opportunity to rebuild and elevate a top-tier nephrology program, supported by newly approved renal transplant services at University Hospital in Newark. The department is committed to advancing the clinical, research, and educational missions of the division with strong backing from the Medical School and University Hospital.
As the Director of the Division of Nephrology, you will serve as the Medical Director at University Hospital, overseeing a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient nephrology service. This position is designed for a dynamic leader ready to manage a vibrant clinical environment that includes dialysis, IHD, CRRT, PD, and plasma exchange programs, while also directing five outpatient dialysis sites across the Newark region.
You will lead the division's rebuilding as an institutional priority, specifically driving the newly approved simultaneous liver-kidney transplant program. The role offers a unique blend of clinical leadership, research mentorship, and educational oversight. Preference is given to candidates with a background in renal transplant nephrology who are UNOS eligible, as well as funded basic/translational research faculty (MD/PhD) who will be supported with a generous start package and tenure track appointment. Clinical research candidates will also receive dedicated resources and protected time to ensure programmatic success.
