The Director of Research Programs leads and directs strategic, programmatic, outreach, and administrative functions for collaborative, inter-institutional programs focused on biomedical research. This position is based within the Gulf Coast Consortia (GCC) organization at Rice University and reports to the GCC Executive Director.
In this role, you will manage the inter-institutional seed grant program and other research groups that impact the biomedical sciences training and research community in the Houston-Galveston area. You will facilitate opportunities to collaborate across the Texas Medical Center, including organizing meetings and conferences focused on various themes in biomedical research. The Director serves as a liaison with granting agencies and institutional partners, overseeing research program staff and interacting extensively with faculty across multiple biomedical institutions. You will also assist with research grant preparation and engage with program deliverables such as project management and reporting.
