The Director of Strategic Finance serves as a pivotal member of the finance leadership team, reporting directly to the CFO. This role bridges the gap between finance and accounting with a distinct focus on driving growth. You will be instrumental in decision-support, providing the CFO and senior leadership with relevant data, thoughtful analysis, and sound recommendations to steer the company forward.
While the primary focus is strategic, the role also encompasses oversight of key accounting activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, audit coordination, accounts payable processing, accounts receivable collection, and tax compliance. You will lead financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis while evaluating potential M&A opportunities, partnerships, and strategic investments from initial assessment through execution.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of high-level strategy and operational excellence. You will collaborate cross-functionally to support business initiatives, providing financial insights that shape company direction. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to monitoring key performance indicators, conducting scenario analysis, and exploring opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
You will also manage relationships with external partners, investors, and financial institutions, while preparing critical presentations and reports for executive leadership and board meetings. Beyond the numbers, you will mentor and develop financial team members, fostering a positive environment and helping them enhance their overall capabilities. You will stay updated on industry trends and economic factors, ensuring the organization remains agile and competitive.
