The Group and Leisure Sales Manager serves as a strategic partner in driving revenue across the Cape Resorts portfolio, which encompasses five premier properties in Cape May, New Jersey, and a distinguished resort on Shelter Island, New York. This role is pivotal in executing the overall revenue and yield management strategy, with a specific focus on group Food & Beverage, site fees, and meeting room rentals.
You will act as the primary liaison between sales, revenue management, and operations. By collaborating closely with the Head of Sales, VP of F&B, Head of Marketing, Director of Revenue, and General Managers, you will ensure that room revenue and occupancy goals are not only met but exceeded. The position requires a deep understanding of the luxury hospitality landscape, particularly within the Preferred Hotels & Resorts network, and demands a proactive approach to cultivating relationships with corporate meeting planners, third-party agencies, and social event coordinators.
Your day involves a dynamic blend of strategic planning and hands-on execution. You will analyze market trends and competitive data to refine sales strategies, ensuring that banquet menus and room blocks are priced competitively to maximize revenue. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to relationship building—attending industry mixers, engaging with Convention Centers, and maintaining robust connections with travel industry partners.
Operational excellence is key; you will regularly inspect hotel areas to ensure they meet client expectations and resolve any service issues immediately. You will lead weekly reporting sessions to the VP of Sales, detailing sales funnel progress, lead generation metrics, and contract statuses. Furthermore, you will participate in cross-functional meetings with General Managers and Revenue Managers to align on rate structures, displacement analysis, and annual budget forecasts, ensuring a cohesive approach to capturing group and leisure business.
At Cape Resorts, we uphold the "Top Five Sales Standards" to deliver exceptional client experiences. These include responding to all inquiries within 24 hours, maintaining active client engagement through regular outreach, and executing a high volume of sales calls to drive business. We foster a collaborative environment where team members across all departments work together to provide quality service, ensuring that every guest interaction reflects our commitment to luxury and hospitality.
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of hotel sales experience in group, leisure, and corporate markets are encouraged to apply. Please submit your resume and cover letter detailing your experience with revenue management systems and luxury brand representation. We look forward to reviewing your application and discussing how your skills can contribute to our continued success.
