About the Role
The Director of Engineering serves as the steward of the hotel's physical plant, ensuring the appearance, safety, and working order of all facilities and systems. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between technical operations and strategic business goals. You will lead the maintenance department, overseeing everything from preventative maintenance schedules and capital projects to emergency response and vendor management.
In this position, you will not only manage daily operations but also inspire your team to exceed standards. Your day will involve strategic planning for labor and budget efficiency, collaborating with HR on talent development, and ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations including OSHA and EPA. You will act as a proactive leader, communicating directly with the General Manager and supporting the broader OVH/SMM leadership team in maintaining building standards across properties.
