The Director of Counseling Services serves as a pivotal leader within the Student Development division of Student Affairs, providing strategic oversight and clinical direction for the College's mental health counseling services. This role is dedicated to ensuring the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and developmentally appropriate care to both traditional and non-traditional students. By bridging clinical expertise with administrative leadership, the Director supports the emotional well-being, academic success, and personal growth of the entire student body.
The position operates at the intersection of direct clinical practice and organizational management. Day-to-day life involves balancing the provision of individual counseling and crisis intervention with the supervision of interns and the development of campus-wide wellness initiatives. The Director acts as a key consultant to faculty, staff, and Residence Life, fostering a supportive and inclusive campus environment while maintaining rigorous compliance with professional ethical standards and institutional policies.
