The Director of Engineering Operations serves as a strategic leader within Johns Hopkins Health System, overseeing the engineering team's efforts in technical review, field commissioning, and advanced troubleshooting for healthcare, teaching, and research facilities. This role is critical to maintaining the operational integrity of a mission-critical academic medical center, ensuring that complex building systems—from HVAC and electrical to medical gas and fire suppression—meet rigorous performance specifications and regulatory standards such as The Joint Commission and NFPA.
Beyond technical oversight, the Director drives sustainability initiatives aligned with institutional goals and contributes to campus utility master planning. The position requires a collaborative spirit to bridge the gap between design and operations, working closely with the Director of Engineering Design to ensure that operational insights shape future engineering standards and specifications.
