About the Team
The External Data Strategy team builds the data pipelines, advanced analytics, and models that enable Capital One to understand our customers' financial lives. We lead the full data lifecycle from sourcing new data and designing features pipelines to providing support to data users across the business. Our team leverages Python, Spark, SQL, Databricks, and other AWS capabilities to deliver powerful data for our customers.
About the Role
In this Director role, you will lead a team of 10-15 data scientists as a leader-of-leaders. You will set a strategic agenda, provide technical oversight and guidance, and develop talented individual contributors and managers. Your day-to-day involves partnering with cross-functional teams of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver data and insights that drive the business. You will flex your interpersonal skills to translate the complexity of your work into tangible business goals, ensuring that every decision made is the right one for our customers.
