As a Direct Service Professional, you will provide essential support across home, work, and community settings. Your primary mission is to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities build life skills, connect with others, and achieve their personal goals. Every day offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
In this role, you will turn everyday moments into meaningful experiences. You will empower daily living by assisting with activities such as cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, and health maintenance. You will foster independence by teaching social skills, encouraging community involvement, and supporting problem-solving. As a mentor and role model, you will demonstrate positive behaviors and coach individuals through challenges to help them build meaningful relationships.
You will also be responsible for ensuring safety and well-being by carefully following care plans, medical instructions, and dietary needs. This includes preparing accurate documentation of progress and behavior support, providing safe transportation to appointments and enriching activities, and collaborating closely with teammates, supervisors, and families.
For positions within residential settings, you will additionally assist with daily household routines, follow strict medication administration procedures, and maintain clear communication logs during shift transitions.
