At RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, 185,000 great minds are united by purpose to solve the world's most complex problems. With three market-leading businesses and world-class operations, we push the boundaries of known science to connect and protect our world. Raytheon brings over 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet today's mission needs and stay ahead of tomorrow's threats. We deliver solutions that help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression, creating a safer, more secure world.
Raytheon's Surface Radars and Sensors (SR&S) Center in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Systems Engineer II to support Digital Radar test activities. This role is vital for ensuring the performance and reliability of advanced radar capabilities across hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL), and field environments.
In this position, you will engage in a wide range of engineering activities, from planning and executing radar test events to conducting detailed data analysis. You will apply radar-domain expertise to evaluate system performance, assess algorithms and software, and identify root causes of anomalies. The role involves generating and interpreting modeling and simulation scenarios to predict radar performance and validate algorithm updates against flight test truth data. You will also support real-time and near-real-time field analysis during test events, providing reach-back to development teams and advising mission leadership on system status.
You will collaborate with group leads, cross-discipline engineers, program leadership, and government stakeholders to define analysis objectives and communicate findings. The work includes producing technically rigorous analysis reports, performance assessments, and presentation materials suitable for internal reviews and external customer briefings. While the position is onsite, it may require occasional domestic travel (approximately 15-25%) to Raytheon and government facilities to support integration, test events, and technical meetings.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid, or remote. Please note that an active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret level) is required prior to the start date, and U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted, though business necessity may alter this timeline. We encourage you to apply early to ensure your application is considered.
