About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to join our team in Roanoke, Virginia. In this role, you will work on heavy-duty vehicles, performing maintenance and repair duties that keep our fleet running efficiently. You will interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints, diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers, and identify root causes of failures to perform necessary repairs.
This position offers a stable schedule with Monday–Friday work hours on the second shift (1:30 pm – 10:00 pm), ensuring weekends off. You will have the opportunity to build your skills through paid training and participate in our Top Tech Competition, where technicians can earn significant annual bonuses. As a Ryder employee, you will drive Ryder vehicles and utilize our Shop Management System to document work, ensuring compliance with all federal, provincial, and corporate safety guidelines.
Hiring Process
To join our family, candidates must be prepared to undergo a comprehensive screening process. This includes passing a Ryder drug test, a DOT physical, a Ryder road test, and a background and motor vehicle check covering the last three years. Additionally, applicants must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A within six months of hire. Some positions may require additional screenings, such as employment and education verification or specific customer badging requirements.

Requirements
