About the Role
This position serves as a vital support pillar within the maintenance team, bridging the gap between drivers and technicians to ensure fleet reliability and safety. You will be instrumental in performing preventative maintenance services on heavy-duty and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems.
Your day will involve active collaboration with drivers to complete daily post-trip and vehicle safety inspections, ensuring every vehicle is road-ready. You will conduct thorough safety checks during safety lanes and preventative maintenance (PM) sessions, performing lubrication and repairs on assigned points. The role requires you to learn and utilize brake inspection procedures, document findings daily, and execute basic repairs on various service types, including rear load, front load, roll-off, grapple, and porta-potty trucks.
Communication is key in this role; you will discuss vehicle issues and preventative techniques with A & B technicians and drivers to minimize future repairs. You will also maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards, manage repair order paperwork, and utilize factory service manuals to guide repairs. The environment involves both indoor shop work and outdoor exposure, including occasional road calls in extreme weather conditions.
