This position is responsible for performing ultrasounds in a professional and diagnostic manner, utilizing cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images. The role requires a thorough understanding of ultrasound machine operation and the ability to leverage new technologies to perform a variety of examinations.
Beyond technical execution, this role is defined by the relationships built with patients and the healthcare team. You will establish and maintain ethical working relationships, displaying empathy, compassion, and integrity even during moments of high stress. You will coordinate closely with physicians and other team members, providing assistance during invasive procedures when applicable, and may be asked to supervise and train students and medical sonographers.
Depending on facility needs, responsibilities may expand to include echocardiography. You will also assist in maintaining accreditation requirements and ensuring age-related protocols are followed for various tests.
