Key Responsibilities
- check_circleConduct administrative investigations of policy violations and incidents
- check_circleDocument all incidents with complete and accurate verbal and written reports
- check_circleReview sign-in/out sheets to ensure proper timekeeping by Detention Officers
- check_circleManage break schedules and ensure officers receive proper relief
- check_circleProvide oversight and direct reporting of detainee counts
- check_circleInspect all facility areas where detainees are present at least once per shift
- check_circleSchedule adequate staffing and ensure minimum manning standards are maintained
- check_circleEnforce ACA and ICE National Detention Standards and related policies
- check_circleConduct daily quality assurance inspections of facilities, grounds, and equipment
- check_circleAssist detention officers in managing disturbances or detainee non-cooperation
- check_circleSupervise and provide on-the-job training to Detention Officers to improve skills
- check_circleManage staffing levels by filling open posts and handling call-offs
Requirements
- verifiedMinimum 1 year detention officer experience
- verified2 years field supervision experience
- verifiedUS citizen or permanent resident residing in US for 5 years
- verifiedHigh school diploma or GED
- verifiedValid state driver's license
- verifiedValid armed security G license (Florida)
- verifiedAbility to obtain state security guard D license (Florida)
- verifiedDHS/ICE government clearance
- verifiedPass criminal background and credit check
- verifiedPass drug tests
- verifiedPass medical examination
- verifiedAt least 21 years of age
Nice to Have
Knowledge of and familiar with ACA and DHS ICE National Detention Standards and regulations on the operation of detention and correctional facilities. Membership in the American Correctional Association. Bilingual.
