About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Designer/CAD Drafter to support our mechanical design and documentation activities in Chelmsford, MA. This position serves as a critical bridge between engineering concepts and manufacturing reality, working closely with a Principal Engineer to interpret design intent and translate technical requirements into accurate 3D models and engineering drawings.
The ideal candidate thrives in an environment requiring independence. You will be expected to clearly understand project requests, ask appropriate clarifying questions when needed, and resolve technical problems with limited day-to-day direction. Your work will directly impact the accuracy and consistency of our engineering documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with engineers, manufacturing teams, and cross-functional partners.

- check_circleCreate and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings for mechanical components and assemblies
- check_circleGenerate assembly drawings, exploded views, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- check_circlePrepare drawing packages suitable for manufacturing, inspection, and assembly
- check_circleDocument, revise, and release drawings and related files in Agile PLM
- check_circleSupport Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- check_circleIdentify and resolve design and documentation issues with minimal supervision
- check_circleCollaborate with engineers, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams as needed
- check_circleApply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14 standards
Requirements
- verified5+ years of experience as a CAD Drafter, Designer, or similar role
- verifiedProficiency in Creo Parametric or SolidWorks
- verifiedStrong working knowledge of GD&T and mechanical drawing practices
- verifiedFamiliarity with Agile PLM
Nice to Have
Experience in a manufacturing, automation, or robotics environment. Knowledge of machined parts, sheet metal, and mechanical assemblies. Experience supporting production or sustaining engineering teams.
