About the Role

As a Designer II, you will drive the development and delivery of compelling visual experiences across the Divergent brand, including digital, print, presentation, and experiential platforms. You will lead the creative process from concept through production, translating complex ideas into visually engaging assets that inspire, educate, and elevate the brand.

The ideal candidate combines strong design fundamentals with strategic thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Communications, Video, and Product/Engineering teams to ensure cohesive and high-quality visual storytelling across all touchpoints. Your work will range from sketching and storyboarding original concepts to art directing layouts and motion assets that communicate complex ideas clearly.

Work Environment

This role is based primarily onsite in our Torrance, CA office. The position requires a willingness to work occasional weekends to support critical company milestones.

Requirements

Experience working in a technology, industrial design, or product-focused environment; familiarity working alongside industrial designers or physical product development teams; advanced proficiency with Figma and PowerPoint; experience creating motion graphics, animations, and dynamic visual interactions; expertise in typography, layout systems, color theory, and visual storytelling; experience creating and optimizing digital assets for web and presentations; knowledge of print production processes, printer specifications, and color management; experience with image retouching, manipulation, color correction, and production optimization; ability to create 2D assets, iconography, illustrations, and branded visual systems; strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills; excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills; highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously; resourceful, self-motivated, and comfortable operating in an evolving, high-performance environment; a refined design sensibility and obsessive attention to detail; a strong understanding of how brand systems scale across media and experiences; the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution; collaborative energy and a proactive approach to creative problem-solving; passion for creating visually compelling work that communicates with clarity and impact; experience in automotive, aerospace, hard-tech, robotics, manufacturing, consumer electronics, or other technology-driven industries; strong understanding of social-first storytelling, short-form video ecosystems, and platform-native creative execution; experience collaborating with cross-functional partners, including product and engineering teams; passion for emerging storytelling formats, evolving creative technologies, and innovative media workflows.
