About the Department

The Department of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in coastal Charleston, SC, is seeking a general dermatologist (tentative start 2027) and a pediatric dermatologist to provide clinical care. Duties will include providing outpatient clinical care at the Medical University of South Carolina's main campus and/or satellite locations.

Founded in 1824, MUSC continues to uphold its long tradition of excellence in education, research, and patient care. As the state's only integrated academic health sciences center and largest non-federal employer in Charleston, the university and its affiliates have collective annual budgets in excess of $7.1 billion, with an annual economic impact of nearly $10 billion and annual research funding in excess of $360 million. MUSC educates and trains more than 3,000 students and over 1,000 residents in six colleges.

About the Role

You will join a robust clinical practice with a dedicated team of dermatology-trained staff, including 21 physicians, 15 residents, and 7 APPs. The role offers the potential to work at any of the Charleston area clinics with a minimal call obligation. As an academic faculty member, you are expected to participate in teaching assignments and mentor students, interns, residents, and fellows. The position is ideal for candidates with an academic orientation, enthusiasm for teaching, and a passion for outreach and research, with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and teamwork.
