The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) is seeking an experienced Database Analyst to play a pivotal role in supporting enterprise application development, maintenance, and modernization. This position is critical for ensuring the stability and evolution of mission-critical systems that serve the state's agricultural and consumer interests.
In this role, you will act as a bridge between technical execution and business needs. You will collaborate closely with division staff, business users, and leadership to gather requirements, validate system functionality, and drive operational enhancements. Your work will directly impact the reliability of the AES LIMS application and associated database components, ensuring they meet the rigorous demands of state government operations.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of development, troubleshooting, and collaboration. You will spend significant time developing and enhancing applications using Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and Microsoft .NET technologies. A key part of your workflow includes analyzing and resolving complex application and database issues to minimize downtime.
Beyond coding, you will coordinate testing efforts, manage defect tracking, and create detailed technical documentation to support system modifications. You will also participate in modernization initiatives, working within multi-developer teams to improve processes and ensure compliance with FDACS development standards. Regular communication with stakeholders will be essential to report on project updates, risks, and recommendations.
Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will be reviewed for their technical expertise in Oracle and .NET environments, as well as their experience with AES LIMS applications. The selection process focuses on identifying individuals who can independently manage complex tasks while effectively collaborating within a team structure.

State government application development experience. Experience following structured SDLC methodologies. Experience with application testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Experience creating technical and functional documentation. Knowledge of FDACS development standards and enterprise processes. Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field. Oracle Certifications. Microsoft .NET Certifications. Relevant database or application development certifications.
