Position Purpose
Customer Service/Sales associates deliver fast, friendly service by actively engaging with customers to assess their needs and provide tailored assistance. In this role, you will learn to utilize our tools to understand our products deeply, enabling you to guide customers through the process of selling an entire project.
You will master the full sales cycle within your assigned department—greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing every customer. Additionally, you will gain knowledge of the basics in adjacent departments to provide comprehensive support. Beyond sales, you are responsible for maintaining the in-stock condition of your assigned areas, ensuring they remain clean, shop-able, and safe.
Safety is a core priority. You will work to create a safe environment for yourself, co-workers, vendors, and customers by adhering to all safety policies and standards. This includes completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards, or reporting unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty.
You will collaborate closely with your Department Supervisor and associates across various departments. Specific store departments may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental. The Customer Service/Sales position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.
