The CT Technologist is a vital member of the diagnostic imaging team, operating computed tomography (CT) scanners to capture high-quality images essential for diagnosing injuries, infections, cancers, and other medical conditions. This role exists to bridge the gap between advanced medical technology and patient care, ensuring that physicians receive precise diagnostic data while prioritizing patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
In this position, you will be the primary point of contact for patients entering the CT suite. Your day involves preparing patients by explaining procedures, verifying medical histories, and positioning them safely on the scanner table. You will operate complex imaging equipment, calibrate settings for radiation dose and slice thickness, and administer contrast agents under physician guidance. Beyond technical operation, you are responsible for reviewing image quality in real-time, collaborating with radiologists to ensure diagnostic standards are met, and maintaining a sterile, safe environment. The role also requires diligent adherence to radiation safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and Joint Commission guidelines, alongside continuous professional development to stay current with evolving imaging technologies.
