The Cardiac Anesthetist Team at Emory University Hospital (EUH) and Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) is a vital component of Emory Healthcare's integrated academic healthcare system. As part of the largest clinically integrated network in Georgia, the team collaborates within the Anesthesia Care Model alongside CRNAs, CAAs, and MDs to ensure the highest level of quality and safety for patients. The team manages complex surgical procedures including heart and lung transplants, VADs, ECMO, CABGs, robotic surgeries, and minimally invasive valve procedures. Additionally, the team participates in out-of-OR procedures such as TAVRs, Mitral clips, TEVARs, EP procedures, and anesthesia for TEEs and cardioversions.
This role offers a dynamic day-to-day environment where you will supervise student anesthetists and manage patient needs across both EUH and EUHM sites. Under the direction of an Anesthesiologist, you will administer general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical patients, interpreting physiological and pharmacological status while establishing multi-parameter monitoring. The position includes opportunities to participate in clinical research and instruct others in principles of anesthesia and respiratory care. New graduates will begin with a General Surgical Specialties rate, adjusting to the Cardiothoracic Anesthetist rate upon successful completion of the Cardiac Anesthetist Competency/Orientation.
