About the Role
The Crane Operator ensures the safe, efficient, and precise operation of assigned equipment, supporting critical construction activities such as pile driving, steel erection, and bridge construction. This role is vital to meeting project demands and standards, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and skilled execution of critical lifts.
As a team member, you will be responsible for your own safety as well as that of those working in the area. You will work closely with construction crews, adapting to different personalities and management styles to accomplish goals efficiently. Success in this position relies on experience, judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with Superintendents and Foremen regarding equipment status, fuel needs, and supply requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleControl crane movements in response to hand signals and radio commands
- check_circleOperate assigned crane equipment safely and precisely for pile driving and steel erection
- check_circleRead load charts and plan critical lifts with heavy equipment setup
- check_circleConduct daily equipment condition reports and work checklists for the Project Superintendent
- check_circleClean crane cabs and machinery interiors on a daily and weekly basis
- check_circleMonitor and report equipment fuel status to coordinate refueling schedules
- check_circleIdentify utility locations within the work zone to ensure site safety
Requirements
- verifiedValid crane operator license for the State of Connecticut
- verifiedMinimum of 10 years' experience with pile driving, steel erection and bridge construction
