As a Crane Operator, you will be the critical link in moving heavy loads safely and efficiently across diverse job sites. You will operate a wide range of mobile cranes—including All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawlers, and Boom Trucks—to lift, position, and unload materials and personnel. This role is deeply collaborative; you will work closely with riggers, oilers, and site supervision, relying on clear verbal and hand signals to execute complex maneuvers. Beyond operating the machinery, you will often function as part of the ground crew, ensuring every lift is secure and every procedure is followed to the letter.
Your day involves more than just controlling the levers. You will drive the crane to various worksites, set up equipment according to manufacturer specifications and company safety rules, and manage the assembly and disassembly of the machinery. You will take complete charge of safety protocols, from barricading counterweight tail swings to performing rigorous pre- and post-trip inspections. You will also maintain detailed logs of vehicle repair status and working hours in compliance with FMCSA regulations, ensuring that every job ticket is accurately filled out for customer acceptance and billing.
At MEI, safety is not just a rule; it is a top-of-mind awareness that guides every action. We pride ourselves on a high-functioning team environment where honesty, integrity, and professionalism are the standard. We look for individuals who take pride in their work and strive for peak performance in daily tasks. You will be part of a group dedicated to delivering the quality service our customers expect, working together to navigate the challenges of outdoor environments, including extreme weather conditions and occasional weekend or holiday shifts.
Candidates must be prepared to undergo a comprehensive screening process, including a drug test, background check, and a DOT physical to confirm fitness for duty. Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in English, both orally and in writing, to ensure clear communication on site.
MEI is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values a diverse workforce. We are committed to hiring qualified candidates regardless of background and are a M/F/Disabled/Vet Preferred Employer.
