About the Role

We are looking for a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our San Diego team and support construction cost services across a portfolio of healthcare projects for key clients. The ideal candidate will be driven and promote our purpose and values.

These projects include new-build healthcare facilities, hospital expansions, and renovations within active clinical environments. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of complex phasing, stakeholder coordination, and cost control in highly regulated settings. You will partner with clients and project teams to deliver outcomes that improve people's lives, ensuring cost efficiency and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

check_circleManage estimating services for full project lifecycles including cost development and value engineering
check_circleManage cost reporting by establishing schedules, reviewing forecasts, and maintaining commercial risk registers
check_circleMonitor the invoicing process and perform final accounting including post-contract audits and closeouts
check_circleBenchmark project performance against other successful commissions and comparable healthcare projects
check_circleHold post-contract reviews with clients to establish lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
check_circleDevelop procedures governing project handover within operational healthcare environments
check_circlePrepare Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, and utilize cost estimating and take-off software
check_circleAdvise clients on strategies and manage vendor prequalification, bids, and appointment processes

Requirements

verifiedBachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or related field
verifiedMinimum 3–5 years of experience in cost management or quantity surveying within construction
verifiedRICS accreditation or progress toward certification
verifiedExperience supporting cost management on medium to large-scale construction projects, ideally healthcare
verifiedConstruction consultancy experience
verifiedGood knowledge of construction industry technical matters including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering
