Join a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of history providing housing and services to seniors. Our mission is rooted in a commitment to quality care and service within a Christian environment. We strive to create a supportive community where residents receive the highest standard of care.
As a Culinary Team Member at our Rapid City facility, you will play a vital role in nourishing our residents, staff, and visitors. You will be responsible for preparing, assembling, cooking, and portioning food while strictly adhering to menu guidelines and specific dietary requirements. Your work ensures that every meal meets our high standards for appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation.
This role requires more than just cooking; it demands a dynamic approach to a changing culinary environment. You will follow standardized recipes and Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines to prepare and store food safely. A key part of your day involves documenting HACCP steps, temperatures, and outcomes to guarantee the safest food possible. You will operate a wide range of kitchen equipment, from mixers and ovens to dishwashers and refrigerators, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Success in this position requires strong communication skills to work with internal customers and excellent teamwork. You must be comfortable working independently when necessary, possessing a solid understanding of food safety processes and basic math for accurate measurements. The role involves being on your feet for the majority of the day and moving throughout the facility.
On-the-job training will be provided to help you succeed. Depending on the location, you may be required to obtain Serv Safe certification within a designated timeframe and fulfill annual continuing education requirements, including departmental meetings and safety in-services. A drug screen and pre-employment background screening are required conditions of employment.
