As a Culinary Team Member at our Rapid City facility, you will play a vital role in nourishing residents, patients, staff, and visitors. Your day-to-day involves preparing, assembling, cooking, and portioning food while strictly adhering to menu guidelines and specific dietary requirements. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, appearance, taste, and temperature.
This role requires a dynamic approach to a changing culinary environment. You will follow standardized recipes and Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines to ensure the safest food possible, documenting all steps and temperatures. You will operate a wide range of kitchen equipment, from mixers and ovens to dishwashers and refrigerators, while managing labeling and storage protocols.
Success in this position demands strong communication skills to collaborate with internal customers and the ability to work independently when necessary. You will be on your feet for the majority of the day, navigating the facility to serve meals and maintain a clean, sanitary cooking and serving area.
On-the-job training is provided to help you succeed. Depending on your location, you may be required to obtain Serv Safe certification within a designated timeframe and fulfill annual continuing education requirements, including safety education and mandatory in-services. A drug screen and pre-employment background screening are required conditions of employment.
