As a Culinary Team Member at our GSS SD Rapid City St Martin facility, you will play a vital role in nourishing our residents, staff, and visitors. Your day-to-day work involves preparing, assembling, cooking, and portioning baked goods and meals while strictly adhering to menu guidelines and specific dietary requirements.
You will thrive in a dynamic culinary environment where food safety is paramount. This includes following standardized recipes and Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines to prepare, store, and serve food. You will document critical steps, temperatures, and outcomes to ensure the highest quality and safest food possible. The role requires operating a variety of kitchen equipment, from mixers and ovens to dishwashers and refrigerators, while maintaining rigorous sanitation and cleanliness standards in all cooking and serving areas.
Success in this position requires strong communication skills to work with internal customers and the ability to function effectively as part of a team. You must be comfortable working independently when necessary, possessing a solid understanding of food safety processes, basic math for measuring, and the ability to read and follow recipes. The role is physically active, requiring you to be on your feet for the majority of the day and walk throughout the facility.

Depending on the location of hire, you may be required to obtain Serv Safe certification within a designated timeframe and fulfill annual continuing education requirements, including departmental meetings and safety in-services.
