As a Culinary Team Member at our Rapid City facility, you will play a vital role in nourishing our residents, staff, and visitors. This position is dedicated to preparing, assembling, and cooking high-quality baked goods and meals that adhere to specific menu and dietary requirements. You will be the guardian of food quality, ensuring every dish meets standards for appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation.
Your day will involve operating a variety of kitchen equipment, from mixers and ovens to deep fat fryers and dishwashers, while following standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines. You will document critical food safety steps and temperatures to assure the safest food possible. Beyond cooking, you will maintain a clean and organized workspace, manage food labeling and storage, and perform necessary washing and cleaning duties.
This role requires strong communication and teamwork skills as you interact with many internal customers. You will thrive in a dynamic culinary environment, balancing the ability to work independently with the need to collaborate effectively with the team. A basic understanding of math and the ability to read and follow recipes are essential to measuring ingredients and executing daily menus.
Good Samaritan offers on-the-job training for qualified candidates. Depending on the location of hire, you may be required to obtain Serv Safe certification within a designated timeframe and fulfill annual continuing education requirements, including safety education and mandatory in-services.
