Join a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of history providing housing and services to seniors. We are committed to delivering quality care and service within a Christian environment, ensuring that every resident receives compassionate support.
As a Culinary Team Member at our Rapid City facility, you will play a vital role in nourishing our residents, staff, and visitors. Your day will involve preparing, assembling, and cooking baked goods and meals that adhere to specific menu and dietary requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring food quality standards regarding appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation are met at all times.
This role requires a dynamic approach to a changing culinary environment. You will follow standardized recipes and Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines to prepare, store, and use food products safely. A key part of your day involves documenting HACCP steps, temperatures, and outcomes to guarantee the safest food possible. You will operate a variety of kitchen equipment, including mixers, ovens, grills, and dishwashers, while maintaining strict labeling and storage protocols for food and machinery.
Success in this position requires strong communication skills as you work with many internal customers. You must be able to function effectively as part of a team while also possessing the ability to work independently when necessary. The role demands physical stamina, as you will be on your feet for the majority of the day and walking throughout the facility.
On-the-job training will be provided to help you succeed. Depending on the location of hire, you may be required to obtain Serv Safe certification within a designated time frame and fulfill annual continuing education requirements, including departmental meetings and safety in-services. A drug screen and pre-employment background screening are required conditions of employment.
