Key Responsibilities
- check_circleOwn the monthly and annual close process including journal entries and account reconciliations
- check_circleMaintain the general ledger and ensure records are complete, accurate, and audit-ready
- check_circleManage accounts payable and receivable, vendor payments, and cash flow monitoring
- check_circleDevelop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and multi-scenario operating models
- check_circleAnalyze unit economics, cost structure, and gross margin to inform business decisions
- check_circleManage relationships with external accounting and tax partners for filings and compliance
- check_circleEvaluate and improve financial systems, workflows, and reporting infrastructure
- check_circleProcess semi-monthly payroll ensuring California wage and hour compliance
Requirements
- verified5 to 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
- verifiedHands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
- verifiedCalifornia payroll experience
- verifiedStrong technical accounting knowledge with working familiarity with GAAP
- verifiedProficiency in SQL queries
- verifiedProficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
- verifiedCPA is a plus
Nice to Have
Experience in DTC, e-commerce, consumer goods, or a product-based business. Prior experience in a smaller organization where multiple functions were managed simultaneously. Paylocity experience. Familiarity with AI tools and an eagerness to apply them to financial processes. CPA certification.
