As a Continuous Miner Operator, you will be the primary operator responsible for safely and efficiently extracting coal. Your day-to-day involves driving the miner into position at the working face, operating the machine to gather coal, and conveying it to shuttle cars or other haulage equipment. You will determine appropriate locations for operations and reposition the miner to create additional holes or cuts as needed.
Safety and efficiency are paramount. You will continuously monitor extraction operations and listen to equipment to detect binding, stoppage, or malfunctions. Beyond operation, you are expected to possess the knowledge to perform routine maintenance and repairs on the miner, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with all Company Policies, State Laws, and Federal Laws.
