About the Role
The Construction Process Director is a leadership position designed to build and implement a robust project controls framework over the next 1-2 years. This role exists to define roles and responsibilities across Vistra organizations and ensure the full lifecycle integration of project controls, construction quality assurance, and contract strategy. You will serve as a systems-oriented leader who thrives in complex, multi-disciplinary environments, translating technical requirements into executable processes. The position requires the credibility to influence senior stakeholders across functional boundaries while managing a team responsible for the capital project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleLead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of project controls processes and governance standards
- check_circleServe as a critical interface between engineering, construction, supply chain, legal, lenders, and independent engineers
- check_circleEnsure all projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- check_circleDevelop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all construction phases including civil, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning
- check_circleLead the development of comprehensive contract strategies including scope packaging, contract type selection, and bid/award strategies
- check_circleDevelop and manage project metrics including KPIs, earned value, schedule performance indices, and cost performance indices
- check_circleBuild and define roles for a project controls team while implementing systems over a 1-2 year period
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Industrial Science
- verifiedMinimum 8 years of progressive project and/or construction management experience on heavy industrial projects
- verifiedExperience delivering projects exceeding $200M in total installed cost
- verifiedExperience leading multi-disciplinary project controls organizations on EPC or large construction-managed projects in power, oil & gas, petrochemical, or related heavy industrial sectors
- verifiedPrior experience working for or directly supporting an Independent Power Producer (IPP), utility, EPC firm, or energy developer in a corporate capital projects role
