About the Company and Project

Cennox specializes in commercial construction and renovation services tailored for financial institutions. We are currently seeking a Carpenter to lead onsite management for a specific renovation project in the Oakland, CA area.

This is a time-sensitive engagement running from June through September. The role is unique in that all work is conducted after hours, during evenings, and on weekends to minimize disruption to the client's operations.

About the Role

In this position, you will serve as the primary onsite manager for the renovation, ensuring the efficient and smooth execution of day-to-day activities. You will act as a bridge between the Project Manager, clients, subcontractors, and internal staff, requiring excellent oral and written communication skills.

The ideal candidate thrives in an environment requiring independence. You will be responsible for organizing your work using MS Office tools and managing the project schedule, including 3-week look-ahead plans and master schedules. Your day-to-day involves conducting site surveys, reviewing construction documents for constructability, and managing subcontractors to ensure scope and quality expectations are met. You will also be expected to set an example for job site organization, safety compliance, and waste disposal standards.

Hiring Process

Candidates must be prepared to undergo a background check, drug test, and DMV check covering the last 18 years. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate reliable transportation and flexibility to work the required non-standard hours.
